Andrew Lanxon Wedding photography

How do you get the ‘photojournalist look’ for your wedding? Hire an actual photojournalist!

My decade of experience as a professional photographer for CBS — as well as my years of experience photographing weddings in the UK and across Europe — means I truly understand how to tell a story with images.

My style is informal, blending authentic, candid moments, with artfully staged shots to capture both the real emotions of the day, as well as timeless, beautiful portraits you’ll want to see framed on your wall for decades to come. You can see more examples of my wedding work below.

Hiring me doesn’t just mean getting me for set hours on your day. We’ll meet in person, chat about your needs and the ways we can work together to create a set of truly stunning images. If time allows, we’ll visit your venue and do a mini pre-shoot that I include for free in my wedding package. Why? Because it helps you get comfortable in front of my lens and lets us decide on our favourite places to shoot without having to waste time on the big day — both of which will result in much better photos from the wedding itself.

I’ll be there for your entire wedding day, from the moment the bridal party gets up for breakfast champagne through until the dances (and drinks!) are in full flow. I want to be able to tell the whole story of your wedding day and I can only do that by actually being there — it’s why I don’t charge more for ‘extra hours’ at the end of the night.

Afterwards, you’ll receive between 300-500 individually edited images, in high resolution JPEG format, delivered by online transfer (Google Drive, Dropbox etc) or sent via USB. I do not jack up the prices with albums, as I’d rather present you with the images you’ve paid for and let you print and share them however you want — something my previous clients have been extremely grateful for!

While I don’t advertise myself as a wedding photographer, I love being part of people’s wedding days and capturing those moments that I know will mean the world to the couple. I accept a maximum of three wedding bookings per year, so if you like what you’ve seen here and you’d love to have me capture your happy day, please use the contact page to get in touch!

Amie and Matt

Amie and Matt’s wedding took place in an amazing part of East London, reflecting both the city that they met and fell in love in, and the city that they both now call home. With a large number of family and friends in attendance, the day was full of smiles and laughter, but not without its challenges as a photographer.

As a winter wedding that didn’t start until 3pm, most of the photography was done in darkness. It’s here where purely ‘natural light’ photographers will fall down, as such dark conditions require deep expertise with lighting, to ensure the couple looks incredible, but doesn’t have the harsh ‘flash’ look. Amie and Matt were overjoyed with their images and the set has been featured on the industry-leading wedding site Rock My Wedding.

Liv and Sam

Taking place in mid-December, this winter wedding meant I relied on my own lighting for almost the entire day, but that just meant more opportunities to be creative while shooting this stunning day at a beautiful venue.

Robyn and Ollie

Robyn and Ollie’s wedding was held in a stunning part of the French Riviera, making use of multiple venues for both the formal wedding itself and the much larger reception later in the day. The large number of guests meant I had to pay attention to the shots I’d taken to ensure that all guests would be accounted for in their finished images. The celebrations were superb, and knowing my images are framed pride-of-place on their living room wall is a real treat for me.

Liv and Stu

Taking place across two venues in Hackney and Stratford, East London, Liv and Stu’s wedding was a joy to photograph, with a fun, relaxed vibe that was present throughout the whole day. Even as the photographer, I love looking through the images as there are smiles to be seen in every single one.

J and L

J and L’s venue of the incredible Heatherden Hall, set on the site of the famous Pinewood film studios made for an amazing wedding setting. The photography called for a mix of natural light, candid shots, together with beautiful, posed portraits of the couple in the grounds, with more dramatic lighting of my own for the evening shots — resulting in creative, eye-catching images that the couple and their families were astounded by.

Katie and Chris

Katie and Chris’s Windsor wedding had a beautiful hotel setting that was right on the river Thames. We’d done an engagement session in the area months prior to scout out the couple’s favourite locations and, of course, to help them get more comfortable in front of the camera.

Robyn and Ollie - Engagement session

Ahead of Robyn and Ollie’s wedding in the South of France (seen above) we journeyed to the South of England to stage an engagement session, which was immense fun for us all. This pre-shoot allowed the couple to get used to being photographed together and also gave them beautiful images to use for invites and for their wedding website.

Kate and Nate - Engagement session

Kate and Nate’s engagement session took place in Golder’s Hill park, North London, near to where they both met and lived. The bright, outdoor nature of the shoot meant that natural light worked best, and we shot a variety of images from candid shots to more considered staged portraits.
